Mike Ellicott completed a twenty-six-year career in the Army Corps of Engineers, retiring as a Colonel and Commander of the Corps of Engineers’ Europe District. He went on to a 16-year career in Higher Education Facilities Construction and Operations and retired again in 2009 as the Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning and Construction for the Texas Tech University System.

He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and taught engineering at the Military Academy at West Point and at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. He currently leads tours of the Gettysburg and Normandy Battlefields, his hobby since 1991.

He and his wife Marilyn live in Collierville, TN. Their older son, Mike Jr., also a retired Army Corps of Engineer Colonel and the former Memphis District Engineer, lives with his wife and three children in Gulf Breeze, FL and works for Mead and Hunt Architects and Engineers. Their younger son, Randy, works in Facilities at Jefferson University and Hospital in Philadelphia.
